The Vysočina Region (Highlands) extends along the undulating ridges of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands in the very centre of the Czech Republic. It enchants visitors with its untouched natural wealth, clean environment and numerous historical monuments. The region is intersected by the main thoroughfare of the Czech Republic, the D1 motorway, making it easily accessible. Tourists will find three towns with UNESCO World Heritage Sites there, as well as the tranquillity of a sparsely populated landscape dotted with villages and small towns, protected areas, numerous nature reserves and the hospitality of local people.
