Via ferratas in Germany
In total there are about 314 via ferratas for you to discover within the region of Germany. To get a first glimpse of what’s awaiting outdoor enthusiasts like you in Germany, we created a short highlight list:
Starting from Ehrwald, this route offers the shortest and quickest path up to the Zugspitze, the top of Germany. For the Stopselzieher, an easy klettersteig (A/B), a klettersteig set is optional, however it is advised to wear a helmet due to the prevelance of falling rocks on this steep section.
The Mittenwalder Höhenweg is a ridge walk along the western part of the Karwendel Range. The route is marked as an easy Klettersteig (B), thus a harness and klettersteig set are recommended for exposed sections but not necessary if you have a strong stomach for heights.
Alpspitze's (2628m) pyramidal peak is the symbol of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and one of the most attractive mountains of the Northern Limestone Alps. From the Osterfelderkopf, Alpspitze may be climbed directly along the Alpspitz-Ferrata, an easy, mostly protected and much frequented klettersteig.
