Avalanche conditions

·
The Walliser Wispile, which is located between Lauenen and Gsteig, is a good option especially in high winter, when a winter storm is raging on the surrounding high alpine peaks or the avalanche danger does not allow for major ski tours. This tour is also suitable for a pleasurable ski tour after heavy fresh snowfall.
The starting point for the ski tour is at the parking lot of the Hotel Alpenland in Lauenen. The tour starts along the ski slope of the Lauenen ski lift. As a ski tourer, please ascend next to the slope or at the edge of the slope. After you have reached the top station of the ski lift, follow the forest track in a southwestern direction. The path continues over an open alpine meadow with a view of the surrounding high alpine peaks. In direction "Chrine" you follow the summer hiking trail through the fir forest. On the "Chrinne" you change from the Lauenen side to the Gsteig side of the valley. After the "Chrine" the tour continues below the west side of the ridge towards "Hinderi Wispile". From there, one goes south and reaches the flat summit of the Walliser Wispile.

The descent can be made along the path of the ascent. Alternatively, you can also ski back to Lauenen via "Längelowene" and "Höji". Please note and respect game protection zones.

This ski tour is not marked.

La descente peut se faire le long de la ligne de montée. Vous pouvez également redescendre à Lauenen en passant par "Längelowene" et "Höji". Veuillez noter et respecter les zones de protection du gibier.

Cette randonnée à ski n'est pas balisée. Walliser Wispile.
