Destination

Markt Elbingerode (Market)

Turn-by-turn directions

Starting point is the market square in Wernigerode. We pass the town hall, along "Marktstrasse", the "Zillierbach", past the "Schöne Ecke", passing the town. At the end of the "Promenade", we can make a detour to the left, to the pretty "Theobaldikapelle". Otherwise, we keep to the right, along the "Ewaldsweg", "Pulvergarten", "Am Vogelsang", until we can cross the federal road (Bundesstraße) 244 over a small bridge. From here, we follow the path "Voigtstieg" through the forest, always uphill. Shortly before the Landstraße (K1347) between Elbingerode and Heimburg, we reach the "Dreiherrenstein". After crossing the country road, we turn right at the next intersection and cross a boggy valley with a creek via a long wooden bridge. The route then leads directly to Elbingerode via a high plateau. In the town, we go across the streets "Bleichenkopf", "Wolfshagen", "Steinweg" to our destination, the market.
