In rainy weather, the duckboards may be slippery. The duckboards on the open mire are narrow and do not have wider sections for passing. The duckboards running from in front of the birdwatching tower and to the well at the Tiaislaavu lean-to are in poor condition. We recommend boiling or otherwise treating the water taken from the well at the Tiaislaavu lean-to before consuming it. In the winter, visitors must start at the Visitor Centre Naava through the "lower entrance", because the "upper entrance", which serves as a parking area in the summer, is covered by snow in the winter and is part of the ski area.
Tips, hints and links
The Tunturiaapa Winter Nature Trail starts from Visitor Centre Naava, located at the centre of Pyhätunturi, next to the traffic circle. There are bus connections to Pyhätunturi from Kemijärvi and Rovaniemi. See Pyhä-Luosto National Park directions and maps.

During spring floods, we recommend that you wear rubber boots or waterproof hiking boots. In the summer, you can wear trainers.
