Amazing route from the historic center of Bogotá, passing through the main avenue (Carrera 7), the "Alto de Patios" and ending in an excellent climb to the "La Cima" golf club.

Author’s recommendation

It is a recommended route to do with friends, it is a bit longer and more if you add the return time. It is recommended to do an early Saturday or Sunday to avoid traffic (from vehicles and other cyclists)

Turn-by-turn directions

Start your route from "Plaza de Bolivar" where you can see the Liévano Palace, the "Casa de Nariño", the "National Capitol" and the "Palace of Justice". Continue along 7th Avenue to the north, passing the second tallest building in Colombia (Colpatria Tower), the National Museum, and the National Park. When you reach 85th Street, take the East direction where 6 kilometers of ascent to the "Alto de Patios" awaits for you. There you can take a break, cool off, and wrap up yourself for the descent until the entrance of the "Embalse San Rafael" Reservoir, there you will find on your right the other demanding climb to finish at the "La Cima" Golf club. Enjoy the view, the scenery, and the route and gather strength for the way back :)

Public transportation as taxis, buses a TransMilenio can be reached, but the infrastructure is not suitable for carrying your bike.

There are parking lots in the surroundings of the starting point.

Equipment

Always wear a bike helmet. Use reflectors, adequate outdoor clothing (functional shirt, cycling jersey) shatterproof bike goggles, full-finger gloves, bicycle pump, basic bike tools, sun and rain protection, snacks and drinking water, drink bottle, mobile phone, phone fixture for handlebar if necessary.
