Liseth / Vøringsfoss is the starting point of the tour. You can go either way, I did clockwise. You could also start in Finse... You head towards Rembesdalseter, then Finse (which is mountain railway stop) and then back via (almost) Kjeldebu. ATTENTION: Only do this in dry conditions. 30% of the trail is swamp / mud, 30% is rock (mossy / slippery when wet) and 40% is normal trail. The part just past Rembesdalseter is going up a plain rock face, not doable when wet. Finse can get quite foggy. On that note, the markers can be hard to spot, very hard in places. Lastly, there are a view snow fields / glaciers to cross, crevasses included.

Destination

Same.

Turn-by-turn directions

Start literally behind the Fossli Hotel at the Vøringsfoss tourist site. There is only one trail, if intersections come about, follow Rembesdalseter. From Rembesdalseter you follow all the way to Finse (note: no tenting / camping in Finse, they forgot the sign when you come this way, you’ll see it on your way out). From Finse station follow the sign toward Kjeldebu. And it will be about 24k before the intersection back towards Liseth (which is straight ahead anyway). First night will be around waypoint B, Skjytjedalsvatnet (lake). 2nd night (I skipped, not trusting the weather) Rembesdalseter (DNT hut, of you want). 3rd night, Finse (hotel or DNT hut, remember not renting in Finse community, good camping spots 2k past Finse, across the weir). And last night around waypoint F, when you spot the 2nd glacier on your way out (you’ll know what I mean when you’re there). Mind the sheep though in this area...

Public transport

Both in Liseth (bus) and (much more frequently) in Finse (train).

Getting there

Behind the Fossli Hotel. Can’t miss it.

Parking

Quite a tourist spot, but plenty of parking... just make sure you’re not in a private car park.
