Hiking to Fløya is mandatory trip when visiting Tromsø. It is an amazing lookout point over the city and surrounding islands. Fløya totally worth your hike!

Fløya is a 671 m above the see level mountain which is one of the must do in Norway’s Arctic city. Hiking to Fløya is one of the greatest activities you can do while visiting Tromsø.

From the top of Fløya you can admire magnificent panoramic view over city of Tromsø, the neighboring islands, fjords, endless ocean and mountains. It is incredible location to experience the midnight sun during summer and the northern lights during winter.

There are different probable ways to hike to Fløya. You can even choose which one is more suitable for you. Overall, the hike up to Fløya is appropriate for adults and children.

If you prefer easy way to the top, you can go first part of the road by Cable Car. The Cable Car goes just in four minutes from Solliveien in Tromsdalen up to the mountain ledge Storsteinen which is 421 m above sea level. Then from the Cable Car upper station you can just follow marked trail upwards.
