1480 steps to a mysterious tourist location: a little known fortress of Vlad Țepeș (Vlad the Impaler) also called Vlad Țepeș Fortress or Negru Vodă Fortress.
The end point of the hike is the Poenari Fortress, located on a rock that dominates the Argeș gorge near the Vidraru dam. The ascent begins in the valley near the Vidraru hydroelectric power station.

The path to the fortress has 1480 steps, but they are not too difficult to walk. The forest we pass through is beautiful, so we are distracted by tiredness.

The path has been closed due to the danger of bears. However, measures have been taken to secure the area by installing an electric fence. Since December 2019 instead of December 2019, tourists are now protected from bears.
