A spectacular coastal destination with traditional craftsmanship

Vietri sul Mare is located at the foot of Monte Liberatore and next to the scenic route Amalfitana. The small town is especially known for its ceramics, but it is also a popular seaside resort. Its ceramic products were particularly appreciated by the Romans during the era of the Roman Empire. Among its patrons was even the court of Naples. Even nowadays you can find many buildings with classically crafted tiles and there are several shops where you can also buy them. You can get an insight into this craftsmanship at the local Ceramics Museum. Nonetheless, as a typical coastal destination, Vietri sul Mare is, of course, also committed to fishing. That’s why visitors can try fresh seafood at the town’s restaurants.
