The amethyst of Lampivaara was formed about 2 000 million years ago in the bowels of the ancient mountains.  Amethyst Mine is a popular tourist attraction. Dig your own amethyst stone!

On the top of Lampivaara hill you can also admire maybe the most beautiful landscape of Pyhä-Luosto National Park. 


From 1st of June open every day!

1.6.- 15.8. every hour from 11 am to 5 pm

16.8.-30.9. every hour from 11 am to 4 pm

In October from Tuesday to Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm

Tours start every hour on the hour.
