The Rosstrappe is a rock above the Bodetal in the Harz Mountains.
The legendary granite rock in the Harz Mountains got its name from a noticeable indentation in the rock, which reminds of a hoofprint. According to a legend, the imprint was made by the horse of a king's daughter, who had to flee from a giant and jumped over the gorge of the Bodetal. On the other side, the horse's hooves left the imprint in the granite rock. The Rosstrappe can be reached on a hike through the Harz Mountains and also has a stamp station of the Harz Hiking Needle.
