This cosy café is located in the old town of Edinburgh, not far from the university.

The small, comfortably furnished café offers various dishes and catering for events. Whether for breakfast, brunch or lunch, afternoon coffee, dinner or dessert, the Spoon Café offers numerous possibilities. The small café is known as the place where J. K. Rowling wrote most of her first Harry Potter volume. At that time the café was still called Nicolson's restaurant. Even though the café – in contrast to the nearby Elephant House – does not advertise with the famous author, you can imagine her sitting at a table and writing during a visit.
