Combine the unique experience of a Guided Flight and Air Tour with Westwind Air over Sedona and the Grand Canyon followed by a guided hiking tour into the Grand Canyon led by the guides at AOA. On Westwind’s Cessna aircraft every seat is a window seat. Your flight to the Grand Canyon will be expertly narrated as you fly over the Tonto National Forest, the Red Rocks of Sedona, past the San Francisco Peaks and Arizona’s highest point, Mt. Humphreys. Upon reaching the Canyon, your air tour continues with a 30 minute flight over the widest and deepest part of the Canyon, flying as low as 1,000 feet above the rim – this rare opportunity is only authorized to three companies. The flight lands at Grand Canyon Airport where you will travel by van into Grand Canyon National Park for the afternoon hiking tour. This combination of activities makes for the best Phoenix day trip you can find to tour the Grand Canyon.

On the Day of Your Tour

You will meet at Deer Valley Airport on the morning of your tour.

Your guided hike into the Grand Canyon begins with a series of switchbacks before arriving at Ooo‐Ahh Point. At this aptly named lookout point, the landscape opens up to afford breathtaking 360‐degree views of the Grand Canyon. Next, we will continue on until we reach the picnic area at Cedar Ridge, dropping almost 1,200 feet in elevation and descending through more than 40 million years of geological history. This scenic trail traverses gradually along a canyon ridge allowing for unobstructed views and excellent photography opportunities. As we descend through the layers of rock strata, expert hiking guides will educate you on the Grand Canyon’s rich history, ecosystems and geology. After a break for a delicious picnic lunch, we will explore Cedar Ridge before beginning our ascent back up the trail to the rim and the Yaki Point overlook. From there, we return to the Grand Canyon airport for the chartered flight back to Phoenix.
