Auvers-sur-Oise is a French medieval village located 30 min away from downtown Paris.
This charming village has earned an international recognition for its popularity among famous 19th century painters, mainly impressionists. The most prominent of them was Vincent Van Gogh.
• Van Gogh’s residence
The residence where the painter Van Gogh spent his last but productive seventy days, creating 70 paintings.
• The Church
On the slope of the hill, the building is nowadays well-known all over the world through the painting “L’église d’Auvers” immortalized by Vincent Van Gogh in June 1890. This painting is a master piece of the Orsay Museum.
• The Cemetery
The graveyard contains not only the graves of Vincent Van Gogh and his brother Theo Van Gogh, but also those of artists Goeneutte, Murer, Leonide Bourges, Boggio, Corneille.
• Van Gogh Statue
Within the Van Gogh Park, a bronze statue sculpted by Ossip Zadkine representing the famous painter was installed here from Paris in 1961, in memory of Vincent Van Gogh.
