Planinska koča, ki je odlično izhodišče za vzpon na Stol.

Sankaška koča se nahaja v pogorju Kamniško-Savinjskih Alp, le nekoliko višje od cerkve svetega Petra nad Begunjami. 

De hut staat aan de zuidoostelijke rand van het Komna-plateau, hoog boven de vallei van Bohinj. Hij werd gebouwd door de Sloveense Alpenvereniging in 1936. Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog werd de hut volledig afgebrand en vervolgens herbouwd in 1948. Sindsdien is de hut vele malen vernieuwd. De laatste renovatie vond plaats in 2005.  

Planinski dom na Zelenici stoji na mali ravnici Zeleniškega sedla med severnim ostenjem Begunjščice in južnim pobočjem grebena 

Dom pri izviru završnice leži na idiličnem travniku na Smokuški planini pod Begunjščico.

The hut is located just near Veliki Snežnik peak at 1796 m MASL, the highest peak of the Snežnik mountain chain, which is also the highest Slovenian nonapline peak.

Koča stoji na prisojni strani tik pod vrhom Malega Stola (2198 m). 

From the hut there is a beautiful view on the Postojna Basin (Postojnska kotlina) with Postojna and on the mountains which surround it. On the east side one can see the extensive slopes of Javorniki, on their right is the ridge which spreads towards the valley of the Pivka with Savič, Sv. Trojica (the Holy Trinity) and Veliki vrh, and behind rises Snežnik; on the south behind the Postojna Basin are the woody peaks of Ravnik and Vremščica, and even more southwards Brkini and Slavnik; on the west side above the Postojna Basin rises the ridge of Nanos with Pleša and Suhi vrh; on the northwest is the woody   Hrušica with the grassy peak Sv. Lovrenc on its south edge, behind Hrušica one can see Idrijski Javornik.

Bus station Kranjska Gora, along the road and several shortcuts 2 h.   By car: From Kranjska Gora along the asphalt-paved road to the Vršič pass, car park next to the hut. Along the asphalt-paved road from Bovec through the Trenta valley and over the Vršič pass, car park next to the hut.
