Winter hikes in Schwangau

The Allgäu is criss-crossed by a multitude of lakes. You can visit them during winter hikes. If you are looking for a slightly bigger challenge, you should consider the trail „Auf königlichen Spuren von Hohenschwangau nach Tirol“. This is a route of considerable length. You will be on the move for around 3 hours over a distance of 10 kilometres. The route takes you past the royal palaces of Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein. This means that you are actually following in the footsteps of the kings.

Not only can you discover the municipality and its region on winter hikes. You also have the opportunity to spend a relaxing day in the town to get a taste of culture. Don't miss out on a trip to Neuschwanstein Castle. The monument, built in 1869, was modelled on the idealised image of a knight's castle and will delight not only history buffs. On the way to the castle, you will also cross the Marienbrück bridge, from which you can enjoy a breathtaking panorama.
