Viewpoints in Ticino

During the reign of Pope Pius XI, 1933 was celebrated as the Year of Redemption. Three devout citizens of Brione had the idea of erecting a majestic Cross in honour of Christ the Redeemer, as a perpetual and tangible record of this Holy anniversary. When it came to erecting it friends from Val Resa and Brione got togheter to collaborate. The Cross is 12 metres high and was finished in the Spring of 1934.
