The highest treetop hiking trail in Europe is located in the middle of the Mur valley, overlooking the surrounding mountains as well as hills, meadows, forests and church towers in the surrounding area. With its numerous play stations it offers a varied excursion experience.
The Panoramasteg Sausal was built in one of the most beautiful places of the Sausal hills with a panoramic view indicator integrated into the large table. From the footbridge it is not only possible to look into the distance, but it also invites you to take a seat and linger with its lounger and seating at the table. The structure itself is an eye-catcher and an architectural highlight for the entire region.
The Stainzer Aussichtswarte, built in the original state, was built in 1902 by the Stainz section of the Austrian Tourist Club ÖTK on the site of the former Wehrtrum Polan. The architect was D.I. Hans Pascher from Graz. The landowner, Sparkasse Stainz (today Stmk.Sparkasse) had the object built on its land. The waiting room is on the Lethkogel (608m). The total height of the building is 26 m, 93 steps lead to the viewing platform at 17 m height. From here you have an excellent, 360-degree panoramic view of Stainz and the surrounding area, the Bacherngebirge (Pohorje), the Kor- and Gleinalpe as well as the Grazer Bergland (Schöckel) and the eastern Styrian volcanic mountains. The Stainzer Warte is currently not accessible due to maintenance work.
