Through all vegetation zones, with a varied landscape and great views, this guided hike to the Zugspitze offers everything a hiker's heart desires. Through the famous Höllental, over the roaring waters of the gorge and the Kreuzeckhaus, past Alpspitze and Hochblassen and through the Reintal to the highest point in Germany. To really get to know all facets of this mountain massif, the last day ends with the descent over the Gatterl to Ehrwald.
Day 1: Meeting point in Hammersbach at 10.00 a.m. at the large hiking car park. We walk flat to the entrance of the famous Höllentalklamm. Passing the thunderous waters of the wild gorge, the trail leads from here to the newly built Höllentalangerhütte 1,387 m. After a break we ascend past the old mines to Kreuzeckhaus 1.650 m, where we spend the first night.

Day 2: Below the Alpspitze the mountain tour leads over the Bernadeinweg and down into the Reintal to the Bockhütte 1,060 m. After a break, the tour continues along Partnach past the former Blauer Gumpen to the original Reintalanger Hut at 1,366 m. We spend the night at the Reintalangerhütte, which is beautifully situated by the stream, and are spoiled culinarily by host Michi.

Day 3: Today is the royal stage: The mountain hike to the summit of the Zugspitze. The first ascent leads to the Knorrhütte. Part of the luggage can be deposited here and the route continues to Germany's highest peak at 2,964 m. The gigantic view makes you quickly forget all the efforts of the ascent! The way back leads the same way and can be shortened by 400 m in the descent with a short cable car ride. We spend the night at the Knorrhütte 2,050 m. A hut older than the Alpine Club itself.

4th day: Our descent into the valley takes us over the Gatterl to the Ehrwalder Alm. Green alpine meadows and cosy huts invite you to a lunch break before we descend from hut to hut to Ehrwald at the end of the mountain hike. Return to the starting point by train to Hammersbach.
