In and around Paris

Despite its small size, the region of France has the largest population and the greatest political and economic influence in France. The capital, Paris, has more than 2 million inhabitants. A guided tour of France's largest city takes in the most important monuments: the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Notre-Dame and the Sacré Coeur.

For joggers and runners

The vast forests and parks of the Paris region invite you to practice sports activities. The forest of Fontainebleau is considered the green lung of Paris. This protected green belt has a remarkable biodiversity. The network of 300 km of cycle tracks and footpaths allows hikers and cyclists to make long journeys.

The Luxembourg Garden offers a wide range of activities for all ages.

The Jardin du Luxembourg offers joggers and cyclists plenty of space and recreational opportunities. Located in the Latin Quarter, in the 6th arrondissement, it is one of the largest parks in Paris, with an area of approximately 26 hectares. The Jardin du Luxembourg also has tennis courts and basketball courts. Even without sportswear, this facility is worth a visit.

The Sun King's Palace

The Palace of Versailles was originally built in 1623 for the French King Louis XIII. 60 years later it was enlarged and completed in a sumptuous baroque style. During the reign of King Louis XIV, nicknamed the Sun King, the palace housed up to 22,000 workers. The Palace of Versailles is one of the largest palaces in Europe and is considered the pinnacle of European palace culture. In 1979, it was even included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. A visit to the 75-metre long Hall of Mirrors and a stroll through the beautifully landscaped gardens around the castle are well worth the trip!
