Ensure that you have a full set of appropriate equipment
Never embark on a tour alone
Inform friends, relatives, the mountain hut supervisor or the hotel porter of your proposed tour. Report back when you arrive at your destination.
Starting at the mountain station "Lauchernalp, Holz", proceed parallel to the blue trail (Laucherntrail) along the marked boards up to Stafel and on to the Lauchernalp Chapel (viewpoint). Leave the blue trail there and head in an easterly direction below the Berghaus Restaurant and up to the Arbächnubel. Continue following the trail signposts as far as the Arbäkreuz (viewpoint over the entire Lötschental valley from the cross).
From there, make a circuit around the plateau of the Arbächnubel and continue down to the 3-seater chairlift and then along the winter hiking route towards the Hockenalp. Proceed down to the left of the Hockenalp Chapel and then return from there to your starting point at the mountain station "Lauchernalp, Holz".
The postbus runs every hour from Gampel/Steg or Goppenstein to Wiler ("Wiler, Seilbahn" postbus stop). Take the cable car up to the Lauchernalp.
Drive into the Lötschental from Goppenstein, past the villages of Ferden and Kippel as far as Wiler to the valley cable car station. Take the cable car up to the Lauchernalp.
You can park your car in the outdoor car park or in the indoor car park beside the cable car valley station (not free).
