The trail leads from the central parking in Oetz along an asphalt road to the small village Habichen. In Habichen you cross the main road at the Hotel Waldhof, there the path continues through the forest and on meadow path. Further you walk on a small asphalt side road and cross the river on covered wooden bridge.
Tip: After approx. 300 meters you can turn right and walk to the small Habicher lake. The small detour takes about 15 minutes.
At the end of Habichen you walk up next to the main road. There you can turn right again and walk on a beautiful forest and meadow path, wich leads along the winter creek to the small village Tumpen.
From Tumpen you can take the public bus back to Oetz.

Public transport
Travel safe and comfortable with the train to the Ötztal Bahnhof train station. Last stop and exit point is the train station Ötztal Bahnhof. Afterwards you can travel smoothly and quick with the public transport or our local taxi companies through the valley to your desired destination. The car drive to the Ötztal valley. Situated in Tirol, the Ötztal valley set off in southerly direction and is the longest side valley in the Eastern Alps. The journey with the car leads you through the Inntal valley to the entrance of the valley and further on through the valley. Among the toll motorways you can also use the country roads. - Parking next to the river (at the end of Oetz on the right hand side) – free of charge, but limited parking; camping prohibited
- Parking Acherkogelbahn - free for guests of the gondola lift, camping prohibited
- Parking at night during several days' tours: Parking Oetz town center, the ticket is available at the tourist office Oetz.
