Nice winter hike from Wengen to Kleine Scheidegg with lovely views of the Jungfrau and Eiger glaciers (NOTE: It actually took us arround 5.5 hours). From Wengen to WengerAlp it is an easy hike through the forest. The hike can be ended at WengerAlp (making it an easy hike) and you can return to Lauterbrunnen getting the train . From Wenger alp to Kleine Scheidegg it is more steep, with deep snow, and can get a bit challenging.
NOTE: It actually took us arround 5.5 hours ... Take the winter trail from Wengen to WengerAlp (I think it'd No. 66). it is simple to follow as it is well prepared and with good signs . From WengerAlp to Kleine Scheidegg you can either follow the trail that goes beside the trisn tracks (probably easier option, but less scenic and challenging) or go through the path (dotted line in the map) that goes up to Lauterhorn.
when you get to the split path, take a right which goes to Kleine (continuing up will lead to the peak - Lauterhorn). Follow the trail which keeps s constant altitude of arround 2100 m and get to the Kleine Scheidegg train station
In a sunny day the glaciers look awesome. Take good winter boots, gaiters, walking poles and water proofs
Best time of year
Check the avalanche bulletins, specially for the WengerAlp to Klein part. Take good winter boots, gaiters and waterproofs
