A lovely route around Grindleford (route for Grindleford Fell Race) including a steep start, some lovely single track downhill and a river crossing for the more adventurous - only shallow and bridge available if you don't fancy wet feet!

The route of one of my favourite fell races, this starts in Grindleford taking a steep uphill track though the woods. Make sure you keep your eye out for path towards the top, it can get a little overgrown at times. Although it's a bit of a tough start it's totally worth it as once this is out of the way the rest of the run is downhill pretty much all the way!
Incorporating a really good mix of woodland, open fields and tracks this is a really enjoyable route. For me the best bit of this route is the descent though Padley Gorge - it's fast flowy and technical!
