Explore the Brunni area on the 3.5 km long Schönendboden snowshoe trail and enjoy the breathtaking view of Engelberg.
Explore the Brunni area with snowshoes and enjoy breathtaking views on the sunny side of Engelberg. The free sports bus takes you from Engelberg railway station to the Brunni valley station, where you can take the Brunni railway on Ristis. The 3.5 km long Schönboden Snow Shoe Trail starts at the Restaurant Ristis and leads first along the road to the west past the valley station. After approx. 1 km the trail climbs uphill, once you have reached the highest point, you can enjoy the view of Engelberg. The trail then descends and crosses the winter hiking trail. Back to the starting point, you first cross open terrain and then follow the forest. On this trail there are several metres of altitude to overcome, so it is slightly longer and slightly more demanding than the Riedalp Trail.
Take a break on the sun terrace of the Ristis mountain restaurant and enjoy the magnificent view of the surrounding mountains and the Titlis glacier.
Please walk along the marked and secured snowshoe paths. The user is responsible for the proposed routes. If you are planning a different route, please refer to the avalanche bulletin, maps and weather forecast.
Snowshoe rental at Brunni: At the Yeti Park on Ristis snowshoes can be rented for CHF 15.00 per day (number of snowshoes is limited, reservation recommended for larger groups!).
Snowshoes can also be hired in the sports shops of Engelberg.
