Start
Turn-by-turn directions
The snowshoe hike starts at the Sonnenhof inn. The trail leads slightly uphill, crosses a road and continues on a slightly undulating terrain to the scenically beautiful Egelsee, which was formed after the last ice age. A wide reed belt surrounds the lake. The hike continues to the edge of the forest, then climbs slightly to the Fliehof schnapps distillery. In a long loop, the path leads past the Wimmwaldsiedlung. From here you have a wonderful view of Abtenau and the backdrop of the Tennengebirge mountains. Sloping slightly, the trail now leads back to the starting point of the snowshoe hike.
