Mont Tendre (1):Le Pont - M.Tendre - Cab. du Cunay
From Le Pont in the Vallée de Joux, this tour leads to Mont Tendre, the highest mountain in the Swiss Jura. Mont Tendre consists of several peaks, all over 1600 metres high.
The first level on this route is reached via the Chalet Neuf du Pont on "Haut du Mollendruz". With a descent, the second level is targeted with the Pré de l'Haut Dessous and Dessus Alps. Continue slightly uphill to point 1417, where the somewhat steep climb to the ridge of Mont Tendre begins. Following this, the panorama gradually opens up and reaches its climax at the summit with views of Lake Geneva, as well as the Savoy, Bernese and Valais Alps.
For the descent to Cabane du Cunay, the other summits must also be crossed. Traces of the Classic Tour from Col du Marchairuz to Mont Tendre can often be found. The hut is practically on its path.
