Approach a long ascent through the woods following the marker plates on the trees and the milestones. The crossroads are all equipped with directional signs.
Arriving under the Ratou chalet, take the access to the Crêt de la Neige by the Brulats-Frésy. This passage then borders a wildlife quiet zone in which it is forbidden to enter from 15/12 to 30/06. Gradually, the route leads to Les Brulats-Frésy. The flat section leading to Les Brillones d'en Haut then allows a respite before tackling an ascent through the Combe des Voyettes. Trees are becoming rarer and rarer, the route then takes an open part until it reaches the ridge line. A gentler part allows to reach a canyon that one crosses before joining the final part of the ascent to the top of the Crêt de la Neige, materialized by a post.
In the distance, we can see the Reculet cross, the second highest summit of the Jura massif. The route is marked out until the crossroads "Sur les Brulats" for those who would like to venture further...The return journey is on the same path.
