This snowshoe tour to the Eineguntkopf leads us to typical Allgäu Nagelfluh rocks, as they can also be found at the Hochgrat only 5 km farther east. The tour to this peak is particularly suitable for beginners, as the ascent and descent route are on predominantly wide, never steep meadows and pastures in southern orientation.

Author’s recommendation

With the Oberen Stiegalpe and the Falkenhütte, there are two places to stop for refreshments.

Destination

Valley station of the Hochgratbahn

Turn-by-turn directions

From the parking lot at the Hochgratbahn valley station, we turn back about 100 m in the direction of Steibis. We turn left into a small valley and soon reach open meadows and the ski slope. We now climb up to the Untere Lauchalpe at 1,000 m and turn right there, cross a stream and climb up on a free ridge to the mountain inn Obere Stiegalpe (1,178 m).

From here, we head west on a gentle incline and pass the steep northern slope of the Eineguntkopf. A somewhat steeper stretch leads us straight to the Falkenhütte inn at 1,439m. Through the hollow, we reach without effort the summit ridge and past some spruce trees the summit. The descent follows the ascent route.
