From the mountain cable car station, follow the signposted path southwest onto the Hallstatt glacier. From the wind funnel there is a path to the lower Eisstein cliff face. From there the way continues over the middle section of the Hallstatt glacier and towards the upper Ice lake. Now it is another 200 meters in altitude to the Simonyhut. Safety warning - in the winter some of the ravines on the glacier are filled with snow and therefore difficult to see.
From the Simonyhut, the ski ascent leads along the 650 hiking path to the Gjaid Alm.
From there pass the Hausberg lift towards the III section of the Dachstein Krippenstein cable car.
Further you then ride into the valley on the prepared piste to the valley station of the Dachstein Krippenstein cable car.
It is also possible to go via the valley station and then choose the Imisel-descent over the Eisgrube into the valley.
Please note that you will be travelling in a high alpine environment. Single travellers please join a larger group and those inexperienced with this glacier enivronment please travel accompanied by a professional guide.
Always watch the weather before beginning this tour as it should only be attempted in good weather. Emergency gear should of course be present with you at all times.
