In Ranua Zoo you`ll see the wild arctic animals, polar bears, arctic foxes and other arctic animal species in the midst of northern woods.
At the Ranua Wildlife Park you can see polar bears, as well as 50 different other arctic animal species in the midst of northern woods. Did you know that the fur of the arctic fox is considered as the warmest of all mammals? The animals live in spacious fencings in the midst of northern wide forests, in their as authentic natural environment as possible. You can see cubs of arctic animal species nearly every year, and at the Domestic Park you can admire calves and little pigs. Many animals at the Wildlife Park are night-active. You can take a guided tour in the otherwise closed Wildlife Park: only the wild animals, you with the group and the guide are present. In the light night of the Midnight Sun of Lapland you can easily detect the animals. After lunch at the zoo drive back to Rovaniemi. In the evening you can think over everything you’ve seen, or maybe go berry-picking. There are blueberries in July, lingonberries in mid-August and cranberries in September.
Rovaniemi is the only place in the world to meet the real Santa Claus
