Sorško polje is a bit special landscape. Since German speaking farmers were settled there, their farms were built on the western side of the road and their fields were regularly parcelled on the other side, with a typical hay-rack on each property.
Škofja Loka is one of the oldest medieval towns of Slovenia. Dominated by a strong castle and still well preserved.
Reaching the area of Škofja Loka is similar as on the tour from Kranj to Križna gora. If you want to almost double your effort, these two tours can be combined.
The stretch along the canyon of Sava river is also a part of the described tour around the canyon. Read there how to find the tourist trail along Zarica canyon at Drulovka and other nice spots on the canyon edge. Of course you can return to Kranj also by the other side of Sava.
