The 1st part from Foix to La Mouline allows you to warm up on a rising false flat.
From there, the climb is wooded but not clogged in terms of scenery. The passages are at first relatively difficult then less steep before the Col de Marrous (990 m).
After the Col de Marrous, we switch to the north face of the mountain, in the middle of the conifers. It climbs steeply at first (up to 10%) then gradually eases off for the last 3 open and very rolling kilometres.
From the Col Marrous (990 m), we switch to the North face of the mountain, amidst conifers.
From the pass, the view is magnificent and wide, from the Pic du Midi and Massif du Néouvielle in the distance to the West, to the Ariege peaks in front of you.
The descent is via the small, very winding D15. Once in the plain, we go back to the right to go up to Alzen by a pretty road with very little traffic, then we return to our starting point on the section taken on the outward journey.
