The 1900 kilometres long pilgrim trail "VIA ROMEA", from Stade (close to Hamburg) to Rom, from Kirchheilingen to Bad Langensalza.
The day stage from Kirchheilingen to Bad Langensalza on the Via Romea leads us on a former railway route through the villages of Klein- and Großwelsbach and Thamsbrück, further through the Thuringian Basin towards the south.
The village of Thamsbrück was first mentioned in 736 as a station (bridge) of a long-distance path.
Kirchheilingen is located north of Bad Langensalza. The federal road B84 leads through the village.
