The 1900 kilometres long pilgrim trail "VIA ROMEA", from Stade (close to Hamburg) to Rom, from Gotha to Friedrichroda.
The 27th stage of the pilgrim route VIA ROMEA leads towards the Thuringian Forest. From Gotha to Friedrichroda, the trail crosses the last foothills of the Thuringian Basin. We leave this one finally with the ascent to Friedrichroda. Thus, the VIA ROMEA arrived in the Thuringian Forest.
The trail leads towards the Thuringian Forest. Magnificent views with the mountains in the background.
Gotha is located on the federal motorway A4 and the federal roads B247 and B7. It is therefore very easy to reach via the traffic network.
