An enjoyable 6hr walk, mostly on forestry roads. Some very steep ascents and descents, some muddy ground. Parts of the route are overgrown and difficult to follow.

The route from Ardnadam Chapel to Inverchaolain Church starts off on Forestry roads leading away from Ardnadam, around StroneSaul hill to Glenkin.
It then picks up the Inverchaolain coffin trail. This takes you part way up to the top of Bealach na Sreine (‘pass of the bridle’, or ‘of the stripe’) and then peters out; leaving you to find your own way down to the Forestry roads you can see stretching the length of Inverchaolain Glen below you.
Once you reach the valley floor, find somewhere safe to ford Inverchaolain Burn (suggestions provided on our website) and then follow theForestry toad on the north bank of the burn all the way into Stronyaraig, then follow the path down to the road. Inverchaolain Chirch is visible just a short distance south of the farm.
Aside from the midsection, it’s a fairly straightforward walk on wide, hard-core tracks and will take around 5-6hrs at an easy pace. Hiking poles are recommended for the midsection as the terrain is uneven and boggy in places.
