The 1900 kilometres long pilgrim trail "VIA ROMEA", from Stade (close to Hamburg) to Rom, from Soltau to Wietzendorf.
The eigth stage of the Pilgrim route of the VIA ROMEA leads from Soltau to Wietzendorf. Along a railway line, passing the NATO's military training centre, we go through the forest for a long time. In Wietzendorf, the goal is the Jakobikirche (Church) in the town centre.
We take a section on a rarely used country road ("Panzerringstraße"). Please stick to the left and watch out for cars.
Tips, hints and links
Soltau is centrally located between the large cities of Hamburg, Hanover and Bremen. Three federal roads lead through the village and close to it are two motorway junction points of the A7.
