F027 Way of St. James (Camino) AumontAubrac-LesGentianes

We left Aumont-Aubrac and continued on into the countryside, which gradually got wilder as we went on. After visiting a roadside chapel, we started to get deeper into the Aubrac, with cows, moorland, and marshes, as well as some interesting stone collections! Our room in the Ferme des Gentians had a wonderful view over the moorland. It was run by an old couple, and had probably been a very fashionable guest house in its day, but was now rather faded, and we understood from our hosts that it would probably be closing soon. A few pilgrims were staying in a separate dormitory block at the back of the gardens where Sue hung some washing and we practised Tai Chi and Qi Gong as it dried. We met up with several old acquaintances and some new pilgrims over the evening meal (with aligot again!) and chatted for some time.
