Turn-by-turn directions
From the starting point on the market in Elbingerode, we head south and cross the B 27. Following "Karl-Marx-Straße" to the right, we turn left into Torstraße. Continuing straight ahead we leave the city and come to a limestone opencast mine. Following the wide gravel path, we head towards the forest on a plateau. Continuing south, following a sweeping right-hand bend and a sharp left-hand bend, we reach the wall of the Königshütte reservoir. We cross this and follow the path along the water.
Shortly before we reach the town of Königshütte, we can make a detour to the Königsburg. From here we can enjoy the view and take a break. After a steep descent, continue south in a valley. After we have managed a steep climb, we continue south at a crossroads with a wide path. At a fork in the road we follow the path to the east and reach the wall of the "Rappbodevorsperre". We cross this and follow the path south again.
After leaving the forest behind us, we follow an avenue of birch trees to Hasselfelde. Shortly before entering the village there is a wayside cross on the left-hand side. In the village itself it goes past the Hagenmühle, the "Hagenstraße" in the direction of the center. At "Breite Straße" we turn left and reach the Hasselfelde market.
