Way of St. James Tauber-Neckar - variant via Esslingen

From Rothenburg ob der Tauber we hike through the hilly landscape over fields, meadows and through forests to Schrozberg. There we follow another varied route across the Hohenlohe plain to Langenburg. We hike down into the Jagst valley and climb up to Nesselbach. We continue across fields and downhill on a small path to Braunsbach and the Kocher valley. After another ascent and descent behind Geislingen, we reach the old salt boiling town of Schwäbisch Hall on a former idyllic water pipeline path. We continue hiking to Rieden with its imposing St. Mary's pilgrimage church and shortly afterwards arrive at the Schwäbisch-Fränkischer Wald Nature Park. On partly old paths we hike via Wolfenbrück and Siegelsberg down to Murrhardt. The picturesque little town with its picturesque half-timbered houses invites you to stay.
