F50 Way of St. James (Camino) Eauze to Nogaro

We slept well in our double room, and had a good breakfast in the new hostel block by ourselves. (The other guests were in the main guesthouse.) The modern kitchen area had a wooden table etched with the Camino from Moissac. We were shown a shortcut out the back to our route, and had a pleasant walk through rolling vineyards, where the grapes for Armagnac are grown, and unusually horses were roaming free between the rows. It seems that no weedkiller was used in these vineyards. warmed nicely by the sun. We met up with the British couple on the way, having a drink at a village with a bullring, and also the couple from Lyon. Continuing on in the sun through varied countryside, we came across an outdoor exhibition of photograhps of pilgrims, and crossed the Greenwich meridian! Arriving in Nogaro, the church of St. Nicolas was an interesting mix of old and new, including an 11th century carving, and we obtained a stamp for our pilgrim pass. We stayed in an AirBnB room with a friendly retired couple, and had a pizza in the village for supper. Sue even heard a cuckoo!
