Anita is a locality in the municipality of Argenta, Province of Ferrara. It was founded as a “rural village” in December 1939. Its foundation had been anticipated by a series of reclamation works in the area begun in 1921, which had divided the arable land into farming plots, prompting the need for a village. The new village was soon involved in the events of the Second World War by being directly caught in the conflict. During the post war period Anita flourished for a while, then it declined from the 1960s.
