Discovering the Meschio, Friga and Caron rivers.

Church of Silvella

Park in the wide roadside with the bus stop, in front of the church, turn right and pass a capital dedicated to the Madonna del Carmine. Cross the road and take via Montello. Once on the embankment of the Friga-Caron stream, continue to the right until you reach a bridge, cross it and keep to the right. Near a hairpin bend, continue straight along the banks of the Caron stream, which becomes grassy here. Once entered the municipal area of Cappella Maggiore, cross a small bridge, continue left into via Borgo Gava and from here take via Torrente Carron immediately on the left. Continue keeping to the right up to via dei Casali, here keep to the right on Strada dei Grava. Turn into Via della Ghiacciaia until you reach Via della Paglia. Cross the road and take Via Mattarella on the right, for a short detour to the Church of the Holy Trinity, also known as della Mattarella, of early medieval origins. Retracing our steps or continuing along via della Mattarrella, reach the roundabout of the “Pagoda” and take Via Cadore. To avoid the detour to Cappella Maggiore, after exiting Via dei Casali, turn left into Strada di Grava, which immediately leads to the intersection with Via Cadore. Cross the road to take via Aldo Moro, after a few hundred meters, keep left at the first intersection, passing in front of a suggestive house decorated with pebbles outside of which you can see ancient millstones. Cross the narrow bridge and turn left into via Mazzini, after a few tens of meters you can admire on the left the islet of Cristo del Meschio, so called for the beautiful wooden crucifix, work of Francesco and Remigio Pagotto. Close to a bend, before this road enters the busy main road, it is possible to continue along the right bank of the Meschio river, up to the hamlet of Santo Stefano. Once in Santo Stefano, cross the bridge and the road, take Via Caranzina and immediately keep right to stay on the Meschio bank (left side of the stream). Continue until you reach the dirt road that leads to Pinidello elementary school, after passing the schools, turn right and take a stretch on the sidewalk of the main road. When you cross via Monte Negro, cross the street and take Via D. Chiesa, until you reach the square of Pinidello, with the church of San Rocco. Continue behind the church to the left on Via Filzi, if the grass is cut it is possible to climb the bank again near a pink house, otherwise continue along the road. Arrived in via Pasubio Sud, turn left and, paying attention to the cars, cross the bridge. After passing it, immediately resume the lower left bank and continue straight to enter via delle Frighe. Once back on the road, cross via Monte Grappa, staying on the embankment, turn right at the first crossroads (street number 19) to resume via Montello and return to Silvella. At the intersection, turn right to return to the parking lot.
