Discovering the Meschio, Friga and Caron rivers.
Consorzio Pro Loco delle Prealpi
The Meschio rises at the foot of the Col Visentin and passes through several municipalities on the left bank of the Piave, ending its course in the Livenza, marking the border with Friuli Venezia-Giulia. The Meschio river also passes through the famous Serravalle, favouring weapon production in medieval times and industrial production in contemporary times.
The Friga can’t be defined as a "river" due to its size. In fact, we talk about the Friga stream, a small watercourse coming from the Pian de Spina locality, between the municipalities of Fregona and Sarmede, finally flowing with the Caron.
Like the Friga, also the Caron can be defined as a torrent. It was born in Sonego, a small hamlet in the municipality of Fregona which, together with the Friga, finally flows into the Meschio, near San Rocco.
