G11 Way of St. James (Camino) Domat-Ems to Trin

We returned to Domat-Ems, and started where we'd left off the previous day at the Jakobsweg marker. The first part was along the Rhine, tamed by hydro-electric schemes, before heading into the hillsides. This was to be our last walk of this holiday and was pleasant if it were not for the many cyclists who insisted that we moved out of their way on very narrow paths. (The more experienced cyclists were pleasant and understanding of us walkers, but the novices were very inconsiderate). Arriving in Trin, or rather beneath it, we walked down to the railway station which was next to the river, and we got our first view of the start of the gorge from the suspension bridge next to the station. There we found a pleasant restaurant to sit and wait for our train. We had some time, so we stopped off at the church of Sogn Gieri (St George) near Rhäzüns, dating back to the High Middle Ages. It is decorated throughout with Gothic frescoes, and has some original pews!
(Footnote: The many cyclists was, of course, due to Covid 19 which caused people to look for alternative holidays ).
