Turn-by-turn directions
Start point: Mezzocorona (TN)
Mezzocorona, 219 m - Monte di Mezzocorona (intersection 506), 891 m
From the centre of Mezzocorona (219 m) walk up to the bottom station of the Monte di Mezzocorona cable car, after which you’ll see the SAT signposts (SAT footpath 500, signposted Monte). The route follows a steep road to the Grotta della Madonna. Where the road levels out near a fountain, take the path that now winds up through the woods and, having passed a band of rock (Clape de l'asen, splendid views), comes close to the rock face and continues alongside it until the Capitello di San Antonio shrine. You are now about halfway. The path overlooks the deep Val di Piaget in places and goes up around various outcrops to reach the summit pulpit with its large cross and magnificent views. From here it’s just a few minutes to Monte (intersection 506, 891 m, 1 ¾ hrs; cafés and restaurants), where you can either set out on another walk or return to the starting point by cable car or by the same path (1 hr 10 min).
