Mountain tour on the Säuling above Austria
The challenging mountain tour on the Säuling has great views and landscapes at every single step.
From the car park, always follow the signs to the Säulinghaus. Until you reach the Säulinghaus, you walk along a small path in the middle of the forest. Only when you reach the top of the Säulinghaus do you realise how much altitude you have already climbed. From this point onwards it becomes more demanding with small climbs. After this part, the path becomes considerably larger and a few small grassy fields stretch out. Before the summit there are a few more small climbing sections. Once you reach the summit, you have beautiful views in all directions. At the top it could be a bit windy. The descent is the same as far as the Säulingshaus. After that, you can choose whether to hike the same way as on the ascent or to take the road as described here on the map in order to spare your bones and have an easier way to descend. .
