The ascent from the woods of Concei to the top of Monte Cadria is among the most demanding that Valle di Ledro has to offer, but also one of the most rewarding.
As one gets closer to the summit, the thick vegetation gives way to bushes, meadows and eventually edelweiss, the queen of alpine flora. On the roof of Valle di Ledro there is nothing to hinder the view, which is free to sweep in all directions, towards Lake Ledro, the mountains of Val Concei and Valle del Chiese. During the Summer cows graze the Alpine meadows of Cadria. Among the first sounds which strike the ear from Spring to Autumn is the whistle of the marmots moving among the rocks.
The signs of the Great War are still well visible around Monte Cadria. The life of soldiers at the front and horrours of the Great War are narrated in the diary of Lieutenant Felix Hecht, to whom the cross in the valley of Cadria is dedicated.
The last stretch, rather narrow and exposed, is best suited for experienced hikers.
