Close up on mountain formation. In no other place in the world are the traces of mountain formation as clearly visible as in the Sardona area. For this reason, the region became part of UNESCO World Heritage in 2008.
But not only the hearts of geologists beat higher, even hikers get their money's worth. A picture-pretty and almost untouched mountain landscape awaits you on this alpine hiking tour. The many small lakes and the impressive peaks of the Sardona region will enchant you.
The descent follows the fascinating waterway Trutg dil Flem.
In uncertain weather conditions, the tour should not be started. Weather reversals in the mountains are common.
Good hiking boots with good profile or trekking shoes, weatherproof clothing
This long-distance trail from Filzbach to Flims is designed in such a way that the UNESCO World Heritage Tectonic Arena Sardona can be hiked from hut to hut for just under a week. On the way you will experience unique landscapes such as the Kerenzerberg along the Mürtschenstock, the Murg lakes, the Mühlebachtal, the Flumserberg, the karst area near the Schilsquelle, the fossil sites between Schönbühl-, Fanser- and Laui-Fürggli, the original Weisstannen- and Calfeisental, the Heubützl and the Foopass as well as the area around the Tschingelhörner between Elm and Flims. The Sardona World Heritage path can also be experienced step by step; or you can include more geo-sites and expand or change the hike as you wish.
