From Hittisau/Reute to the Hochhäderich

This mountain tour takes us to the Hochhäderich, which is located above Hittisau. Around the summit of the Hochhäderich there are forests, alpine meadows and at its foot an extensive high moor. The border between Austria and Germany, between the Bregenzerwald and the Allgäu, runs directly along its summit. On our route, which runs along well-marked paths and trails, we pass several alps and the Hochhäderich mountain inn. Once at the top, we are offered a beautiful panorama with a view of the Allgäu and the Bregenzerwald. With its location in the border-crossing Nagelfluhkette Nature Park, the area around the Hochhäderich also offers geological and faunistic highlights. Along the way you will find rock formations of the „Nagelfluh“, which was formed by the deposition of rivers and occurs frequently in the Alpine fringe region.
